Windows Vista Gamers Edition x64 Unattended (by Old.Bombadillo) Very simple, vLited Vista Ultimate x64, Unattended Install, skipped product key, skipped auto activation. NOTHING added NOTHING taken away besides what is allowed within vLite. With my limited knowledge I opened vLite and looked at the settings from this Vista installation: http://thepiratebay.ee/tor/4019916/Vista_Gamers_Edition_(by_megaposter) I wrote down all settings and duplicated them with a Vista Ultimate x64 setup. (a x32 is on it's way) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is essentially what this Vista install contains. Components: -Accessories Paint System Information Wordpad -Drivers Ethernet Network Adapters Qlogic Fibre Channel Adapter Sound Controllers -Hardware Support Dynamic Volume Manager Modem Support -Multimedia Sample Pictures -Network Internet Explorer Remote Desktop Client -Services Multimedia Class Scheduler Offline Files -System Microsoft HTML engine Performance Counters ReadyBoost Remote Differential Compression DEP Disabled (AlwaysOff) UAC OFF Hibernation Off Paging Exec Enabled Power settg High Performance Show exts. for know file types Yes Show hidden files and folders Yes Show protected OS system files Yes NO AERO THEME, WINDOWS CLASSIC FTW! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I had trouble with megaposters Vista installing any updates, particularly KB940105 (Virtual Address Memory hotfix) which fixes Crysis from randomly quitting to the desktop for me. This version CAN INSTALL UPDATES via Windows Update OR .msu's, .exe's etc. I have also integrated all hotfixes suggested on Nvidias website: http://www.nvidia.com/object/windows_vista_hotfixes.html ATI users can uninstall KB945149 if they have problems, all other hotfixes are also listed on ATI's site. If you know of any other updates that would specifically help this GAMING version of Vista, plz post and I will integrate with a later version (probably when SP1 comes out, as i will create an integrated release then) Also if you know any safe tweaks, registry edits, general tips, ANYTHING that would aid FPS and game performance PLEASE FEEL FREE TO POST!!! Any way I can make this simple release better too, constructive criticism always welcome! This Vista uses appx. half (less even!) the RAM of regular Vista Ultimate x64
To install, burn ISO to DVD. Restart computer, set boot options to boot from DVD. Select partition to install to. Press enter =)
Skipped product key and activation. Blank Admin password (CHANGE TO SOMETHING AFTER INSTALL!)

old.bomb plz help. You said that the critical updates for playing crysis would install but nope. Windows update works but it never seeks out those hotfixes, dled directly from micorsoft and everyone of them gives me error "The update does not apply to your system." Please respond because if you got them to work then it must be possible, I like this version so far but it's sole purpose was to play crysis. If not i will try eXperience editions.

Yes I am going to release another version with SP1, but when it's available through windows update. I've been getting TCP/IP bluescreens with current release lol ^^ (hardware compatibility is my guess)

sorry what ai meant was could i reformat with this as my new OS even though i previously had a x32 version of windows XP Pro installed? and how did this windows perform with the STEAM games?
Yes you can do a clean install of a x64bit OS over a x32. You could even put them both on the same HD.
Steam games run perfect this. I play CoD4 with all settings maxed, never drop below 40fps online. Crysis runs much better too, i gained 7-15 FPS all settings on High. (8800 GTS 512MB)

What you see is an ISO file trying to be opened by WinRAR.
You're going to want a program that can burn that .iso to a DVD. (I use MagicISO CD & DVD burner. Download MagicISO from here (I always recommend PlanetMaster's releases. Always virus free and fast dl)

Run Setup_Magiciso256.exe. Double click magiciso.reg to add to registry. Run program. Go to Tools -> Burn CD/DVD with ISO. Browse to and select "Gamers.Vista.x64.iso"
Use Format: Mode 1. Burn on slowest speed! (To ensure accurate burning of information)
It will burn the iso to DVD. Then just boot from DVD drive and install to selected partition.

Ok, first of all this OS doesn't have the service Print Spooler which is required for printing and it also needs you to activated after 30 days. lol I would like to know how to get my Print Spooler so I can use my damn printer so if any one can help me please let me know.

For us ati users We cant use the CCC. Which without that there really isnt a way of controling our fan nor clock speeds. We cant use rivatuner also. well it wont work for me :(
It will not allow you to install netframework. Regardless of which version.
Also this version WILL NOT play Gta IV. as it needs the framework.
However unless u reenable some control file. cant remember what its called. Then you can Installed the required files :-).
Other than that its a good base for gaming. Yet im still using 32 resouces. and thats just for gaming! but 521 average memory use, out of 8gb thats nothing :0)
oh btw it is activatable with a patch :) found on tpb of course :)
The same patch that still activates vista even with sp1 on :)
